first of all, we would like to wish everyone a very happy and healthy new year! gabby and i spent the 1st at the park. it was a little cold (about 55-degrees or so) but the sun was out and we had the whole place to ourselves. they have this really great park down the street with two huge playgrounds. other than a general good time, the only thing to report is a small lesson learned. don't slide side-by-side, holding hands. gabby and i attempted to slide down a 9-foot dual slide... totally gabby's idea. halfway down gabby dug her sneakers into the slide and stopped moving. i reached over and grabbed her as i was sliding because i didn't want her to fall. well, i lost my balance and when i came to the bottom i fell off and landed flat on my back. gabby was safe and snug right on top of me. looks like those days of falling down stairs without spilling my beer paid off after all.
